Date Night

I'm off work this Monday! It's a long weekend so it means I've just been chilling and relaxing :3c

This week has actually been really fun. My partner and I went on a super cute date night walk on Wednesday along the harbour in the city. Vivid is running, it's basically a Sydney council run event to boost tourism during the off season (winter, cold, rainy, etc). I've never actually gone, but we decided to go and check out all the installations and stuff and get a cute dinner. It was really fun and super pretty! The whole city gets lit up with lots of art installations and shit. V cozy!! We didn't really engage with any of the street food, queues or other events since it was really busy... but just wandering around was super nice!

On the weekend we also went and watched Backrooms! It was actually way better than I was expecting it to be. Like, I'd heard it was good - but, like, it was sooo much better than I was expecting. The monster didn't feel overused, a lot of scares were well-earned, and I really liked how they didn't explain everything to the camera. There's a lot unexplained in the movie! and that's a good thing!!!

After the movie we decided to go to the arcade to see if anybody was around and surprisingly literally all of our "OG Group" were there playing their respective games! We ended up planning a dinner, and it was really fun hanging out and yapping w everyone again. A friend challenged my partner to keep up with him while drinking, and they ended up going through 3x 770ml bottles of Sake ... we did get a tier list out of it though:

  1. "Mei Sweet" - Tastes really yummy, but small shots. Not great for food. Couldn't do a whole bottle. Not sure the actual name.
  2. Narutotai Cho Karakuchi Junmai - Great with food
  3. Hiroshima "Super Dry" sake - Also amazing with food. We also didn't actually get the name, just the region & type.

We all ended up super hungover, but it wasn't suepr bad. The day after I went to my parents for a nice lunch, it was rlly low-key and cozy - but we did cut the day short and had an early night haha.

And even though this happened today (and it's the next week (Monday)), my partner and I ended up just going out for a walk around our area on a whim and learned that there's a super nice national park like,,, 10 minutes from our house. We'd always assumed the green patch on maps was like a sports field or something, but it was actually super pretty. All up we did about a 6km loop of the area, it was really nice!

Next week is meant to be kinda busy with work shit, so I'm hoping its chill - but we'll see! The weekends set to be rlly fun tho :3c
