2 & 3 Player Riichi Mahjong

My partner and I both play Mahjong online, but sometimes it's nice to play in-person. This is how we play Riichi Mahjong with less than 4 players (It's basically Sanma after doing more research...).

Rules

• Each player starts with 25,000 points
• 2-8 manzu tiles are removed (only 1 & 9 are used from the set), all other tiles are used
• Non-player seat winds count as Dora (optional). When drawn, the player can call "kita" and draw from the dead wall. Kita calls can be ronned, but do not award chankan. Players can still call riichi.
• Red 5's are used
• Chii is not allowed

Setup

1. Shuffle all the tiles
2. Create 4 walls of 13-14-13-14 length
3. Dealer rolls 2 dice and breaks the corresponding wall
4. Count 3 to the left of the dead wall and add those tiles
5. Draw as normal
